Behind Her Eyes – Sarah Pinborugh

“Everyone has secrets, Lou,” she says. “Everyone should be allowed their secrets. You can never know everything about a person. You’d go mad trying to.”

I’ve seen so many people, so many reviews and so many comments saying that this book is great and has so many plot twists and that it was shocking to read that no one was predicting what was going to happen so I was very keen on picking it up and seeing if I got the same experience. I don’t believe I’ve read the same book that everyone else has read.

This was a completely underwhelming, frustrating, predictable read for me. I literally guest all the plots, being honest the very last chapter at 99% of the book kind of surprised me but then again he was in a meeting when he was just okay nice. Up until that nothing was talking to me, nothing was unforeseen, that is to say, for me it was a very mediocre read.

The writing is very simplistic, easily digested, and nothing special. I was very frustrated multiple times with things being so out in the open. I kept thinking “where is the mystery? Where is the Intrigue?”.

If I were to describe this book in a single word you would be disappointed. I still want to check out the TV show and see what came out of the story but it is not a book I would recommend.
